What Is the Bible?

As God’s communication to us in written form, the Bible stands as the most powerful instrument for renewing our minds and changing our lives. However, some are intimidated by the intricacy and complexity in the Bible and stay away from reading it on their own. In this 8-week class, students will be equipped to know the grand, unified story of the Bible – addressing key components and making sense of how it all fits together. Whether you’re new to discovering the Bible or eager to renew your love for God’s word, this class will help you read, understand, and respond to God in ways that draw you near to Christ and transform your life.

Discovering Relational Wisdom

God’s greatest desire is for us to learn how to love well! The two greatest commandments in the Bible are to love God with all your heart and to love your neighbor as yourself. Jesus goes on to give us a new commandment: “Love others as I have loved you.” Relational wisdom is the desire and ability to live this out. Your ability to discern emotions, interests, and abilities in yourself and others, to interpret this information in light of God’s Word, and to use these insights to manage your responses and relationships successfully are key skills students will learn in this 8-week class using Ken Sande’s Discovering Relational Wisdom® material, equipping you to experience less conflict and to love others more than you did before.

How Do Christians Grow?

Once we have been born spiritually, it is God’s will for us to grow to maturity. The heart of spiritual growth is a personal love-trust relationship with Jesus where this relationship develops and reveals itself in concrete ways that you and others can recognize! In this 8-week class, you will gain an understanding of God’s part and our part in spiritual growth – laying a foundation for living by grace while being conformed to the image of Christ. Students will be equipped to understand that spiritual maturity happens in community, is compelling and desirable, and is both optimistic and realistic.
