EQUIPPING DIVISION COURSES

The Equipping Division is a series of practical, university-level, applied-ministry training courses that are designed to resource and equip the Christian worker for effective ministry.

WHAT DO CHRISTIANS BELIEVE?

This eight-week course on the central beliefs of Christianity examines the basic teachings of the Bible in a logical and systematic way, revealing how God’s word addresses major questions of contemporary life. The course will demonstrate how both understanding and applying these tenets are essential to a deepening, personal relationship with Jesus and increased skill in sharing his life and work with others. Special emphasis will be placed on the incorporation of biblical teaching into various spheres of ministry—disciple-making, small groups, teaching and preaching, and beyond. Please purchase the book Know What You Believe by Paul E. Little before the first class. Childcare is available at a minimal cost.

WHAT IS THE BIBLE?

This eight-week course examines the collection of books that is the heartbeat and source of the Christian faith. It explores the Bible’s various genres and provides tools to maximize the reading and interpretation of each. The course will also examine both the divine and human origins of the Bible and draw out the implications of these within a context of daily living. Finally, it will equip students with a foundational knowledge of God’s word in order to facilitate personal study as well as to help others grow. Childcare is available at a minimal cost.
